Nicasio Fernandez’s surreal oil paintings unravel everyday life into an absurd territory resulting in an image that is strange yet familiar. A cast of hyper expressive otherworldly figures, delicately grotesque with over-exaggerated limbs and unnatural hues of flesh inhabit the worlds he creates. 

Despite the clear break from reality, emotionally and narrative-wise Fernandez’ paintings seem relatable, and his commentaries on banal daily situations are humorously twisted surreal visions of an alternate reality.
